Our New Pylon Sign

Our exterior got another upgrade this week! A big thanks to everyone that helped make our new pylon sign a reality.

The new asymmetrical design features a two-tone blue pattern achieved by a vinyl wrap applied on three sides of the shroud. The large black arrowhead points to our building and has an outline of blue tube LED. Our logo in white is more readable from the highway.

We were able to reuse our existing Watchfire electronic message center (which was still going strong) and the existing pole and foundation. Reusing these elements helped keep costs down and took time off the install timeline.

We’ve had several iterations of our freestanding sign over the years. In 2008 and 2012 “Sign” was featured in neon applied directly to our monument, as we offered custom neon signs.

In 2014 we constructed and installed a 35-foot-tall pylon sign to showcase our fabrication capabilities and show off how a dynamic Watchfire EMC can really upgrade a business’ visual impact from the road. Accent lighting and a changeable light feature at the top of the sign attracted attention at night.

Ten years later we were faced with the choice to either give our current design some TLC with new faces and a new coat of paint… or to revamp the works. We chose the latter. We are a sign company after all.

Our New Edge Lit Logo

We are excited to show off our new type of illuminated letter on our very own front lobby wall! This edge lit logo is created from two layers of acrylic – one translucent layer and one opaque layer. The opaque layer hides the inner workings of the LEDs and creates contrast for optimal readability.

Lights On/Lights Off:

The super bright LED glows even with the competing light sources found in your typical office setting. At night, the logo glows through our glass door with full coverage perf vinyl, making it visible from our parking lot. Dimmable, color changing LED, and timers are also available, just like any other sign type we offer.

A Back Lit Letter Alternative:

Similar in look to back lit letters, these edge lit letters are a great solution if you’re looking for halo lighting with more discrete mounting. The letters are mounted flush to the wall instead of needing a 2″ stand off to allow the back lighting to glow properly.

Pair with Something Non-Lit:

We chose to pair our new Edgle Lit logo with silver metallic cut vinyl applied directly to the wall. The fun play with our welder working on a sign that’s actually glowing was part of the reason we went with this combo. The other was to highlight the most important part of our logo using changes in depth, materials, and light.
